Services

All services are free, confidential, and non-judgemental. Services are offered in-person or at a distance via telephone or online. We work with interpreters to ensure you receive services in your preferred language.

Employment Support

One-to-one employment counselling, group workshops, job-readiness training, resources, safety planning, and more. Access our new employment hub and connect to additional employment resources and supports.

Groups

Group sessions are run year-round and are facilitated by our counsellors or peer support volunteers. Groups focus on topics such as self-esteem, wellness, parenting, social connection, gender-based violence and abuse, resiliency, safety planning, and more. Groups are now offered virtually to help women continue to connect through the pandemic.

Housing Support

Our Transitional Housing Support Worker assists with seeking safe and affordable housing, applying for financial assistance, remaining housed, safety planning, system navigation, referrals, information about other housing options, and meets with women in the community, where they are safest.

Jared’s Place – Legal Advocacy

Our Legal Advocate provides information, advocacy, and referrals for family, criminal, child welfare, and immigration legal matters. They provide accompaniment to legal appointments and court, safety planning, help to prepare legal documents and applications, and can provide 2-hour Domestic Violence Legal Aid vouchers.

Peer Support

Peer Support volunteers offer free, non-judgemental, and ongoing support to clients who are interested in meeting with someone who has lived experience. Peer Support volunteers can provide additional tips, strategies, and emotional support alongside engagement in other services.

VAW Counselling

Violence Against Women (VAW) counsellors provide brief or longer-term counselling services for women who are experiencing gender-based violence, abuse, and to survivors of human trafficking. Our counsellors offer information on violence and abuse, safety planning, risk assessment, advocacy, system navigation, referrals to police and shelter, and a therapeutic space to connect and heal.

General counselling is also available. Counselling provides strength-based supports to better manage life challenges and stressors, improve coping skills, and seek different perspectives on your experiences. It aims to increase self-efficacy, awareness, self-esteem, and build healthier relationships.
